The Logic of Loss
There is a belief among slot players that certain machines are looser than others based on where they are placed in a casino. For example, many players believe slots close to a door or in other high-traffic spots payout more so that people walking by see people win prizes. In general, a casino will set all their machines to roughly the same percentage for a particular game and denomination. It makes no difference if it’s by the door, by the buffet or in a dark corner.
