The Land of Jesus
With a combination of intensive archaeological investigation, scriptural and ancient text research, and a measured dose of interpretive insight, it is possible to recreate New Testament settings with startling accuracy.
Hungarian-born painter, illustrator and pictorial historian Balage Balogh, renowned as the finest archaeological artist to have worked in Israel, creaated these remarkable works to bring to life the world where Jesus and the people of ancient Judea and Galilee once lived. Balogh has worked closely with Israeli and American archaeologists, and drawn upon period artifacts and reconstructions of ancient architectural plans, to evoke the look of ancient buildings that no longer exist, or lie in only ruins.
