How much oil?
As of May 9, an estimated 3.5 million gallons of oil ha spilled into the Gulf of Mexico since the April 20 explosioin on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig. At the present rate of 210,000 gallons of oil leaking per day, the spill is set to exceed the Exxon Valdez disaster, which spilled approximately 11 million gallons of unrefined crude, by June 10.
