Duarte: Avoiding the Road to PowerPoint Hell (WSJ)
To present a complex, technological product, Duarte Design created slides that worked like simple scenes in a movie, each one layering on top of the previous ones to show the full range of the products’ features.
I get why “PowerPoint Sucks” and “PowerPoint Hell” are better catchier headlines than “Presentation Sucks” and “Presentation Hell.” I really do. But wouldn’t it be more honest to focus on the the folks creating presentations rather than the tools? We don’t blame Word or Blogger for poorly written books and articles.
Anyway, this is another cool example from Duarte. The layering, building effect is one that would carry over to elearning course designs – especially in text-only courses.
