The area around the 158-kilometer (98.2-mile) stretch where the Berlin Wall divided the city has changed utterly in the last 25 years. The barbed wire, machine-gun turrets and tanks in “no man’s land” have gone. In their place have sprung up shopping malls, parks, office blocks and bright, glass-fronted train stations.
