After Surviving, Learning to Live

On Easter Sunday in 2009, Specialist Brendan Marrocco became the first veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to lose all four limbs in combat and survive. He has been undergoing rehabilitation at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington and is preparing for a risky double arm transplant. Specialist Marrocco and those in his circle spoke about his injury, rehabilitation and drive to return to a normal life.
